Christlam: A Look at the Dangers of This End Time Religion!
“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place”……. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.…..For false Christ’s and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”(Matthew 24:15, 22, 24)
Looking at this passage from Matthew 24 really got me curious back in 1995, and it still raises the hair on the back of my neck. If Christ was saying this warning in the year 32 or somewhere around that time period, it could not have been what a Catholic priest told me it was, when I asked him. The priest claimed that Jesus was referring to the time when King Antiochus set up the abominable idol of desolation upon the altar of God during the Maccabean revolution. He said that this abomination had already occurred 200 or 300 years before. He simply suggested that I look at Daniel’s book and read about it. Yet I could not understand why Jesus would put a warning to us about watching for something to occur, if it already happened that far in the past? (This event can be found in the Catholic Bibles in the Apocrypha section in 1 Maccabees 1.) There were others that still do not understand it because of their replacement theologies which make their answer to be that it occurred around 70 A.D. when the Romans wiped out a million Jews at Masada. But that couldn’t be right because of the verse found in Matthew 24:21, which says, “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. “ The Jewish people had things much worst in WWII, with Hitler killing six million Jews. Furthermore, the Jews have rebuilt their nation beginning in 1948. This is evidence that the Bible is accurate in saying that the Lord is not and was not done with the Jews as told to us in Romans 11:1 and 11:25. The Bible, likewise, has told us and prophesied about the Jewish return in Ezekiel 36:24.
The Bible tells us much about these last days, but I wish to share from Scripture about the danger that is approaching us from what might be that one world, end time deception called Christlam that is fast approaching. Having been raised as a Catholic, then seeing the deceptions there once I took a good look at God’s word, I became a zealous follower of some great apologists such as Dave Hunt, Mike Gendron and many of the other Christian websites that I could find. As best I could see, I have been aware of the dangers of Roman Catholicism found through the information provided in books such as the one written by Dave called A Woman Rides the Beast. All of their points were noted and indeed made sense including how the Catholic Church has currently push its outreach for evangelizing under the “Catholics Come Home” title. But I had not figured out how they could be right about the Catholic Church being the leader in a future one world religion and yet they would still have to somehow merge with an another religion, that has been growing at a tremendously fast pace, the Moslem or Islamic Faith. The signs are all around us; we just have to pay attention. Detroit for instance, as found on a website that the editor of this paper shows, that many of the areas of Detroit that have been covered with graffiti – Muslim graffiti. The Catholic Church also, as seen in its 1994 Catechism, has embraced it by what its article #841 says, “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.” I had a pastor this summer agree with my thoughts that the last day religion would be some sort of compromise between these two and others such as Mormonism. Then in June, many Catholic Churches had open “accepting Muslims” day with the Qur’an and Bible both on the altar. In the remaining part of this article, we’ll look closer to see if the Muslim faith can be harmonized with Christianity, as well as the Qur’an with the Bible.
What is Christlam? Christlam is a syncretic religion of Nigerian origin, which mixes elements of both Christianity and Islam faith. Christlam claims: 1- Islam and Christianity (and Jewish as well) are both Abrahamic; 2 – Both teach morals, ethics and monotheism; 3 - Allegedly they both worship the same “diety”; 4 - The Bible and the Qur’an are alleged equals; 5 – Both are paths to Allah/God
A) - Jesus
The Bible is clear in its teachings about Jesus being God (John 1:1+14) , being the one mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) and being the only way to the Father. (John 14:6)
The Qur’an denies the divinity of Christ, rejects the trinity and claims Allah had no sons and Allah is God.
Islam rejects the deity of Christ, and rejects the death of Christ on the cross [Sura 4:157-158]
They deny that Jesus accomplished His purpose.
B) - Who is Allah? Could the Muslim God be Jehovah God?
The Bible tells us that God is love (1 John 4:8) is our Creator () and the author of our Faith (Hebrews 12:2) and in Him there is no darkness.
Three examples of Allah – [Sura 4:142] - the hypocrites seek to deceive god but it is He who deceives them. (Their god is a deceiver.)
They scheme but god also schemed – He is most profound in his schemings - [Sura 8:30] - (Their god is a schemer.)
God revealed his will to the angel saying….I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels – these are the people of the book the Bible – strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers. (Their god is a terrorist.)
C) - If the same then the Bible and Qur’an should harmonize.
The Bible tells us everything we need to know about Jesus in minute detail and in it is the power of Salvation (Romans 1:16) to all that hear and believe it. (Eph. 1:13) It is the Word of God, not of man. (1 Thessalonians 2:13)
Qur’an p. 2 says that Muslim leaders say that there is only one god, the Bible has been altered, thus mis-representing Allah and their word is the ultimate truth not the Bible.
1 - Allah is a god of many tribes of the 7th century in middle-east, in particular of the Koresh tribe.
2 - Mohammad, it is said, went into a trance of some sort, woke up and declared the Angel Gabriel told him to restore the real true religion of the world, his God, the moon god, was the one true god above all other gods.
3 - Mohammad took the Mecca by the sword; he then pushed the religion on the other parts of the world in a similar manner.
Allah is a Deity [Sura 8:12] in the Qur’an. The Bible tells us about the one Triune God being the Father, the Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5)
How can any of us worship next to a Muslim? My answer- Jude 3 tells us, “I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.” That was given to us in the Holy Scriptures. The Muslim faith was started some seven centuries later by someone who supposedly had a vision, just as the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Mormons, all of which were added at a later time. The Bible tells us of a God who created us, and operates out of love and obedience, which did something that no other could or would do – He sent His Son to a death on a cross to cleanse us from our sins. There are so many prophetic areas in Scripture about God and His sovereignty that cannot be ignored. Then there is the compassion for the lowly and sick that Jesus cured so often. Finally, there is His resurrection. Why would anyone not want to go to the triune God of Scriptures? Thank you Jesus and for your finished work at Calvary to save us. Thank you also for your instruction book, written for us to know about you, the Bible. As Acts 4:12 says, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Praise the one true God always!
