Truth or Deception?
What do people really want these days? I've been sitting here at my computer amazed by two opposite facts. The first is that since we are humans, we will see everything from our view and have a definite opinion about a subject. The second point is that nobody seems to agree with your view point. That is why we need to fall before the Lord and Creator of all of us to see what His way is and to follow that particular path. We can only do this by seeking to find what God's view is by going to the Bible and using it as an authoritative type of letter from Him to us. No doubt some readers might even not agree on that either, but let me continue with this point.
Since God is love, and His ways are incorruptible, we can assume that His word is also truth and not contradictory by nature. For those that disagree with that, please humor me, because as a believer I know this to be true. When witnessing to so many people these days I see such a huge battle in what or who is right which also proves out as a testimony to the accuracy of Scriptures. The Bible tells us, "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." (2 Timothy 4:2-4) Folks, we are in those days.
Many people today know bits and pieces of what the Bible tells us and whenever it is convenient for their cause, they will throw out a quote here or there. The problem gets even bigger when they quote their feelings as if what they say was scripturally correct, when indeed it isn't. Oh how the enemy, Satan likes those of that type. There is, however, a Bible verse concerning this that I love and is from the love chapter itself. 1 Corinthians 13:6. It tells us that love, "does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth." It is a verse that often times seems to have gotten lost or ignored by so many out there. Yes, there are those indeed that can be so loving and charismatic when dealing with others, but all I can say to them is something that sounds so right or feels so right does not make them right. What does God's Word say? 2 Timothy 3 tells us, ”That in the last days perilous times will come. Men will have a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
The motivating factor behind this article comes from seeing this type of warfare personally. Often times I am questioned, "Who are you to judge?" I am, as Scriptures say, "able to judge all things" according to whether or not what they say is in agreement with Scripture, thus determining if what they say is truthful? Whenever someone asks why I am so narrow minded and unacceptable to other's beliefs that differ from mine, I simply share with them what Scriptures say. The Bible does not allow for different paths to Heaven outside of Jesus. One goes His way or they don't get there. By sharing what the Bible says about salvation, is that not loving? Again look at what He told us in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
The fact is that there is an enemy that can and will look so appealing, while spreading Anti-Christian beliefs. That individual is perhaps the smooth talker, the charmer. I know that I've met this type of person face to face. He even has such a website that simply melts the heart and mind of those that back him. His website includes statements like, "The Sacrifice of the Mass, where we receive the Eucharist, is a transformation of the Passover liturgy that was the quintessential feast of the Jews." It continues by saying, "The Sacrifice of the Mass is THE quintessential sacrament that gives us our identity and the New Israel, the Church, God's Holy People. Jesus, who died on the cross, made the Lord's Supper and the Cross essentially one." He concludes this saying, "It is the ’marriage supper of the Lamb’ with His bride, the Church." This individual says that the sacraments of reconciliation and Baptism are all looked at as valuable when added to what Jesus Christ did. Venial sins are treated as being “light” and simply can be removed through communion. He also has a few video's of the Passion, including soft music such so you "feel" so right. And then with this soothing deception, you are enticed into an experience, a real comfort zone for those unaware of its deception.
Now I ask you, do you want the ear tickling that I just talked about a
above or the truth as that verse from 1 Corinthians that I referred to earlier stated? We can choose to believe the way he presents as the gospel or we can hang on to the Gospel of Grace spoken of in the Bible? It is a clear example of why I left the Catholic Church, and why you should also leave. The Bible says that "by His stripes we are, healed,” (Isaiah 53:5) not by what we do, "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us." (Titus 3:5)
Perhaps my message is rather blunt, but it is truthful just as that Corinthians verse tells us what love is. My fear is that many people will fall for the twisted viewpoint of his because they are unaware of what Jesus warned us about in Matthew 24:24, "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect."
My appeal is for the reader, those that desire to maintain and support the truthfulness of Scripture, and what God has done, to remain fervent and do not submit to the Satanic pleasantries that are out there. Know what God's will is and stick to it. Prayerfully you'll follow the Bible, know the truth, and the truth will set you free
